BECOME A MENTOR

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentor for WONDER GIRLS! You must be 18 and over to apply as a mentor.‍ ‍

We believe every woman has a story, experience, and perspective that can inspire the next generation. Our mentors play an important role in helping our girls build confidence, discover their potential, explore careers, and see what is possible for their future. Meet our team here!‍ ‍

What Does It Mean to Be a WONDER GIRLS Mentor?

Our mentors are volunteers who support our workshops, community service projects, field trips, camps, and other WONDER GIRLS activities and events.

Mentors serve as positive role models and help create meaningful connections with our girls by sharing their experiences, offering encouragement, and simply showing up for them.

We ask that mentors be able to dedicate their time at least 3 times during the school year. Consistency is important because it allows our girls to build relationships with mentors and see them throughout the year.

Scheduling is flexible and you will be able to choose to mentor at a school that is conveniently located to your home or job. Our program runs 2x per month in each school.

Interested in Leading a Workshop or Event?

All of our mentors will have the opportunity to lead small group discussions and interact with our girls during the program, however, mentors also may have the opportunity to lead the entire group during a workshop or event.

We are looking for professional women who are interested in doing both — volunteering as a mentor and leading workshops when their expertise aligns with our programming.

We believe it is especially impactful when our girls continue to see the same women supporting them, encouraging them, and sharing their professional experiences throughout the year.

Speaker Opportunities & Stipends

Mentor opportunities are volunteer-based. We offer a small stipend of $75 - $150 to speakers after they have volunteered with WONDER GIRLS twice during the school year or at camp.

Mentors who are interested in paid speaking opportunities may be considered after participating in and/or leading a WONDER GIRLS workshop. Speaker opportunities are reviewed and approved by WONDER GIRLS leadership based on program needs, experience, topic fit, and overall fit for the girls we serve.
